  • Connections using HTTP can use either of these methods, while connections using MQTT use certificate-based authentication.
  • Device certificates can be provisioned, activated and associated with the relevant policies only if they are configured using AWS IAM.

RULES ENGINE

 

  • The Rules Engine enables you to build IoT applications that are able to gather, process, analyze and act on data generated by connected devices on a global scale without managing any kind of infrastructure.
  • The Rules Engine provides an evaluation of the inbound messages published into AWS IoT and transforms and delivers them to another device or a cloud service according to the provisions and rules of the business.
  • The Rules Engine can also route messages to AWS endpoints including AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon S3, Amazon Machine Learning, and Amazon DynamoDB. AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) can help in reaching external endpoints.
  • You can customize and create your own rules within the management console or write rules using a SQL-like syntax. Rules can be obliged to behave differently depending upon the type of message.
  • Rule Engine consists of a large number of inbuilt functions that can be used to transform data and create infinitely more via AWS Lambda.

REGISTRY

  • Identity Establishment for devices and metadata trackings such as the devices' attributes and capabilities.
  • Assignment of unique identity to every device that is consistently formatted regardless of the type of device or the way it connects.
  • Do not expire as long as the user access or update his registry entry at least once in every 7 years

 

DEVICE SHADOWS

  • Creation of a persistent, virtual version, or "shadow," of every device that includes the device's latest state.
  • The Device Shadows persist in the last reported state and desired future state of each device even if the device is offline.
  • Easy application building possible due to device shadows so as to interact with your devices by providing always available REST APIs.
  • Device Shadows enables you to store the state of your devices for a whole year without any additional charges.

     

BEAGLE BONE GREEN AND GROVE IOT STARTER KIT POWERED BY AWS

  • BeagleBone Green (BBG) is the result of a combined effort by BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio. It is evolved from the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone Black and has added two Grove connectors. The kit contains the new BBG, 10 Grove modules as well as step-by-step tutorials to hook them up quickly.
